Donovan Mitchell Named NBA Player of the Month

On February 1, the NBA announced that Donovan Mitchell has been named the NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month for games played in January 2024.

This marks Mitchell’s second time winning the award, and he is the first Cavalier to win the monthly award since 2018.

During the month, Mitchell led the Cavaliers to an 11-2 record, averaging 28.6 points and posting three double-doubles. Highlights include an NBA Paris Game record 45 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals on January 11 and a 45-point performance in Cleveland’s win over Detroit on January 31. Mitchell is the fastest player in league history to accumulate 11,000 points and 1,200 three-pointers made.
