SPIDACARES Awards HBCU Scholarships
In April, SPIDACARES awarded college scholarships to five outstanding students at the SPIDACARES and Cavaliers 2025 Scholarship Banquet. Held at Rocket Arena, the banquet was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the importance of education and recognize students who are making a positive difference.
“It is with great pride that we present this scholarship on behalf of SPIDACARES,” said Nicole Mitchell, Executive Director of SPIDACARES. Addressing the students, she offered words of wisdom as they prepare to make the most of their college education. “Be comfortable with being uncomfortable. If you can accept that, it’s going to be your way of life, and that’s the way to success. From here on you will go far. Doing the right thing is not always easy and it may be lonely at times, but you will feel better about yourself.”
The five recipients reflected on their hard work, aspirations, and deep appreciation for the scholarship. As one noted, “I really respect the SPIDACARES foundation and Donovan Mitchell and his mother Nicole Mitchell for giving back. I’m so blessed to be able to receive this scholarship.”
